It began with a habit of capturing dialogues (screenshots) from K-movies and series, reflecting the circumstances I encountered while watching them. This led me to question the ‘truth’ behind these dialogues, prompting discussions with various art practitioners. I sought to ascertain whether similar occurrences were prevalent in their own artistic practices or merely existed as myths.
These conversations uncovered the ability to initiate a broader discourse concerning the contemporary challenges faced by art workers, transcending the traditional employee-employer dynamic. Moreover, they highlighted the emergence of a growing sense of solidarity among cultural workers. I obtained consent from the sources before recording our discussions, ensuring their anonymity to facilitate open expression of opinions.
This project, a part of the Twisted Myth initiative, presented in podcast episodes covering a range of topics, including welfare issues, the versatility of skill sets among workers, mental health concerns, and gender issues within the arts.
