Tomorrow is a New Day marks the third step and publication of Low-Budget Projects—a reminder to resilient, precarious cultural practitioners who continue to pursue their aspirations despite the challenges they face on a daily basis. This edition brings the project into conversation with cultural practitioners based in Yogyakarta, tracing individual and collective efforts to envision and build toward the future—without allowing it to become an unbearable burden on already stretched agendas.
Featuring contributions from Jalan Gembira, Khairunnisa, Gatari Surya Kusuma, Yudha Kusuma Putera, Deidra Mesayu, Putri Siswanto, Nessa Theo and Gizem Üstüner.
Text by Low Budget Project

Before participating in this writing project, I was invited by the Low Budget Project to join their program called the Side Job Festival. As part of the festival, several other art workers and I set up a pop-up booth at Kunci Study Forum & Collective to offer our services and products from our side jobs. From this experience, some of us reflected on the strategies we chose and why having a side job is necessary.
