Creative Economy, Access, Job Challenges

This discussion was organized by HARSA, a group of young people interested in alternative education, the creative industries, culture, and politics. I was invited to represent the After-hours Care Club and share insights about the access and job challenges in arts industry in Yogyakarta. We also had an open conversation about the realities faced by creative workers today, especially freelancers. Who are considered creative workers? How are access and job opportunities distributed today? We explored topics such as decent and healthy working conditions, the challenges and vulnerabilities within the gig economy, unpaid internship systems, the illusion of work flexibility, public policy, and concluded with a discussion on analytical psychology using examples from Indonesian politics.
